Exploring the Gelli Printing

10 weeks course to explore Printing with the Gelli plate and how to use the prints to make something else.

For ALL LEVEL ABILITIES the course is for anyone who is keen on experimenting and being creative.

You will choose how you would like to use your prints by learning how to make:

Collage - Artist Books - Starting a journal/sketchbook - A mixed media artwork? Or something else we haven’t thought yet?…. The possibilities are endless…

starting FRIDAY January 12th 2024

And every FRIDAY  until 15th March 2024

From 9.30am to 12.00pm

At the  AVENUE, KEW IN THE MEETING ROOM.

What does the course cover?

Half the course focus on making prints with the Gelli Plate using a variety of techniques.

You will choose how far your prints can be transformed by learning how to make:

• Collages

• Artist Books - we will explores making two kinds

• journal/sketchbook

• A unique piece of art perhaps using mixed media

• Or something else we haven’t thought yet?…. The possibilities are endless

Within the activities you will learn:

Mark making - the importance of making the mark

Tools - learning what different tools do and how to use them

Mixed media - what it is and the use of different mediums

Collages , basic Book making

Colour theory - understanding the use of colour and value

Design and composition - to understand how to balance and create great pieces of art.
